2nd Annual Cracker's Golf Classic  The Portland Pirates Foundation has announced the date for the 2nd Annual Cracker's Golf Classic presented by Time Warner Cable. The event will take place on Monday, October 3, 2005 at the prestigious Woodlands Club in Falmouth. This year all players from the Portland Pirates team will compete in the event! The Crackers Golf Classic is named for the Pirates' long-time mascot, Crackers the parrot. The Classic is an event of the Portland Pirates Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) Maine public charity. This year the Classic will benefit the Maine Sled Hockey Program. Sled hockey is the fast, exciting, hard-hitting version of ice hockey played primarily by people with mobility disabilities. The Maine Sled Hockey Program, established in 2004, provides opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in hockey and promotes excellence in sled hockey in Maine. Last year at the inaugural Cracker's Golf Classic a total of 107 golfers participated in the event on July 12, at The Woodlands Club in Falmouth.
