Falmouth Wal-Mart Scores with the
Maine Sled Hockey Program

The Maine Sled Hockey Program was proud to host employees of the Falmouth Wal-Mart and their family members to a Sponsor Appreciation Day at the Family Ice Center on Sunday, October 23rd. Falmouth Wal-Mart is a Gold Level Sponsor of the Maine Sled Hockey Program.  Employees and family members of other Maine Sled Hockey Program Sponsors: Alpha One, UnumProvident, Focal Point Manual Therapies, and Wyndee Grosso Photography were also present. 

Former Boston Bruin and Head Coach of the 2002 Paralympic Gold Medal US Sled Hockey Team, Rick Middleton, spoke to the group about his experiences with sled hockey and entertained the group with a DVD of the 2002 Team's ascent to the Gold Medal from being ranked last entering the Paralympics. After Coach Middleton's presentation, the crew took to the ice in sleds played a scrimmage with members of the Portland Sled Hockey Pirates. (Photos)

The US Sled Hockey Team won the gold medal in the 2002 Paralympics. The Prudential Northeast Sled Hockey League is the first organized adult sled hockey league in the USA. Sled hockey players are extremely committed to the sport of sled hockey and regularly teach sled hockey clinics and participate in sled hockey outreach events and sled hockey exhibitions.
