Wes Smith has been at the center of or otherwise supporting the development of almost every adaptive sports event in Maine for over 20 years. While he has usually been the man creating opportunities for others in his role with Alpha One, this time his accomplishments are going to place him personally on the biggest stage in the world for athletes with disabilities. Wes has temporarily turned in the hockey sticks he uses with the Bangor Program and will be representing the United States as a member the U.S. Paralympic Curling Team at the 2006 Winter Paralympic Games in Torino, Italy. All your friends in the Maine Sled Hockey Program wish you the best of luck Wes. Bring home some Gold! Click here to read Wes's bio from the USA Curling Website.
